Northwest University (NCWU) is a national key university directly under the management of the Chinese Ministry of Education. The university was founded in 1942 and is located in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China.

NCWU covers a wide range of disciplines, including science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, law, education, medicine, and agriculture. The university has 23 schools/departments and 66 undergraduate majors. NCWU also has a strong research focus, with 19 postgraduate programs and 11 doctoral programs across 10 disciplines.
